Private Rita Rana – First Nepali Female Gurkha in British Army


27 years old Rita Rana joint the British Gurkha Army following the footsteps of her father Ex. British Gurkha who had served 27 years in 2Bn the Royal Gurkha Rifles. In the history of Gurkha Regiment in Britain this was the first time that any Nepali lady joins the British Army.

Private Rita Rana is from the Germany based 1st Battalion Princess of Wales Royal Regiment and now taking part in taught military exercise on the prairies of Canada to prepare for a position to Afghanistan.

Gorkha Soldiers are renown for bravery and honesty in the world Their famous tagline motto is "Better to die than be a coward" One time Hitler also said that if he had Gurkha Soldiers then he can win all over the world.

This Bir Gorkhali warrior girl makes all of us very proud to be a Nepali and we wish all the best for her future.
