Car has GSP (global positioning system) to locate the perfect location it has sensors to detect trees, obstacles and road landmarks to know the exact position. Sensor on left rear wheel measures small movements made by the car and hels to accurately locate its position on map
Google has test
ed this car 160,000 miles with very little human involvement and 1000 miles without any human involvement.
