Government of Nepal had given a green signal to Survey report of Metro Railway in Kathmandu. Report was submitted by the consulting companies like Railway Network Authority Korea, Chung-Su Engineering Korea, BMIC Nepal and BDA Nepal.
As depicted in the Map above 5 railway lines will spread over 66.1 Km including 31 stations. There will be 5 lines, first line will cover Kathmandu with outer circle ring road covering 18 stations and other 4 lines touches the inner part of Kathmandu valley.
It’s quite impressive, but we must complete the project. As we can see population of Kathmandu is over 17 lakhs and their no any mass transport for public, cities of kathmandu is always covered with heavy traffic jams. Small and congested transport vehicles are now out of date they will only help in spreading traffic jams and Pollution.
Price of Petroleum products are going high day by day, now we must think quickly for other options also. For all these problems metro train will the better and best option.
Our neighboring countries are very developed in mass transport like railways in their country. Indian and China showed keen interest in spreading railway lines to Nepal boarder so, we also must try to develop railway lines to boarder of our Neighboring countries. To do that we must start from small to big so, Kathmandu Metro railway should complete in time so that one day Nepal can touch railway lines of our neighboring countries.
